Welcome to Wildhaven Hills
Our property sits right in the smudgy border between boreal forest and aspen parkland in east-central Alberta, serving up bountiful opportunity for foraging different species of wild plant and medicine. Our vegetable and herb gardens cover over 10,000 square feet, feeding our family for the winter with some to share. Family-farm-raised pastured beef and chicken, as well as some wild game commonly grace our table.
We have lived on Wildhaven Hills for 20 years, but the history goes further back, as we purchased it from family after the former owner, TobyLauren's grandfather, passed away. She spent her childhood years exploring the same spaces that our children do, now. With our children, this land is now serving the 6th generation since TobyLauren's great-great grandmother and her son originally settled the farm just after the turn of the 20th century.
Our love of the natural world inspired us to leave much of our property in its original state. The trees are as they were when we moved in; the wild places have been left to become more wild. We live here passionately, exploring and learning and growing.
We love our lives, and have come to appreciate the huge mental and physical health benefits of being connected to nature and being in touch with where our food comes from. We seek to help others find this same joy.
Whether you have a desire to learn about gardening, food preservation or foraging, or making your own medicinal salves, tinctures or oils, we are here to help you on that journey. Our hope is to take the stress out of the process. We want you to be able to immerse yourself in the tranquility that is found when we become more connected.
